These terms govern your use of the My Abroad Friend website and platform. Please read them before creating an account or submitting an application. By using the platform you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, please do not use the platform.
1. Who we are
My Abroad Friend is a platform that connects students who want to study or migrate abroad with licensed education consultancies and migration agents. We provide the software those consultancies use to manage your enquiry, your documents and your application.
2. What we do, and what we do not do
We are a platform, not an education provider, a university, a migration agent or a legal adviser.
- We do not decide who is admitted to a course, and we do not influence admission decisions.
- We do not grant, refuse or influence visas. Visa decisions rest entirely with the relevant government authority.
- We do not provide legal or migration advice. Advice about your circumstances comes from the consultancy or registered agent you work with, and is their responsibility, not ours.
- We do not guarantee any outcome, including admission, a scholarship, a visa, or a particular timeline.
3. Your account
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, or have the consent of a parent or guardian. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials confidential. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
4. Information you give us
Applications depend on accurate information. You agree that the details and documents you submit are true, complete and yours to submit. Submitting forged, altered or fraudulent documents is grounds for immediate closure of your account, and may be reported to the institutions, agents or authorities concerned.
5. Working with consultancies
When you submit an enquiry or an application, your information is shared with the consultancy handling your case so that they can act on it. That consultancy is a separate business. Any service agreement, fee, refund policy or advice between you and that consultancy is a matter between you and them. We are not a party to it, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.
6. Fees
Students are not charged by My Abroad Friend for creating an account or submitting an enquiry. Consultancies, institutions and other partners may pay us for use of the platform. Any fee a consultancy charges you is set by that consultancy and disclosed by them, not by us.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of the documents and information you upload. You grant us permission to store, process and transmit that material for the purpose of operating the platform and progressing your application. We do not sell your personal information.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the platform. In particular, you agree not to attempt to access another person's account or records, upload malicious software, scrape or copy the platform's content in bulk, interfere with its operation, or use it to harass any person or to break the law.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the platform available and accurate, but we provide it "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that any information on it is complete or current. Course details, fees, entry requirements and intake dates come from institutions and partners and change without notice; confirm anything material with the institution before relying on it.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of opportunity, arising from your use of the platform, from a decision made by an institution or a government authority, or from the acts or omissions of a consultancy. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Suspension and closure
You may close your account at any time by contacting us or the consultancy handling your case. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to do so by law. Where we must keep records for legal or regulatory reasons, we retain them for the period required and no longer.
12. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the revised terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, and the courts of Nepal have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
